Manual Ranked Lists
Right now, lists in Trakt function more like collections rather than true rankings.
There is currently no way to manually order items in a list or assign a clear ranking (e.g., #1–#10). This limits how users can express their personal preferences and makes lists feel less meaningful and less shareable.
The Problem
Lists cannot be manually reordered
No way to assign rankings (Top 10, Top 25, etc.)
Lists feel like “saved items” instead of curated opinions
Why This Matters
Ranking is a core behavior for media fans:
“Top 10 Movies of 2024”
“Best TV Shows of All Time”
“Favorite Seasons Ranked”
Without manual ordering, these types of lists lose their purpose. Ranking adds personality, encourages sharing, and increases engagement.
Suggested Solution
Enable drag-and-drop ordering within lists
Automatically display ranking numbers (1, 2, 3, etc.)
Optional toggle for “Ranked List Mode” vs “Collection Mode”
Allow sorting lock so rankings don’t get overridden by filters
Impact
This would significantly improve user expression, list quality, and social sharing. It turns lists from passive collections into active, opinion-driven content.

PinnedShipped! 🎉
Manual list reordering is now available. Open the list menu, hit Reorder, drag things into place, and save your ranking.
Top 10s, favorite seasons, and carefully curated chaos are now officially supported!

Brill. It’s a great start, but the iOS is the one I’m more excited about!

Nice, thanks for adding this!
I’m seeing one issue though: one item in my list won’t reorder properly.
For example, The Lord of the Rings: Shadow of the Past always stays at the end of the list, no matter where I try to drag it.

Seems like it reorders properly but the display of the list is not catching up. I’ll try to reproduce and see if we can fix it. Thanks for reporting!

Thanks for looking into it!
Here’s the link to my list in case it helps you reproduce/debug it or if you need to test anything directly:

This needs to be implemented ASAP. Many lists are essentially worthless without this basic feature.

I did a similar post about this. Crazy that this is being overlooked.

I agree with this. For some TV / Movies such as MCU, it’s important to be able to manually order so episodes / movies can be in the right place in the timeline for as another example.

Dragging to reorder is not a viable solution for me. I have over 1,200 items on my list (too much, I know, but need time to cut it down).
If I add a film to my watchlist, it automatically goes to the bottom of my list, with no way to change this behaviour.
Dragging it back up to somewhere near the top takes waaay too long.
