Bring back VIP ability to force Refresh from data sources.

The link on the left in version 2 allowed VIP members to trigger a refresh of data for a show from its source (usually TMDB). The 2026 version is missing this link. I updated a show yesterday on TMDB, and as it’s a low-traction show, it could take a while for the data to be updated by a routine pull from Trakt. I thought perhaps the TMDB pulls had been sped up, making the Trigger button unnecessary, but it appears not to be the case.

@Kevin Cador Another example is the episode dates (changed on TMDB) here: https://app.trakt.tv/shows/lol-last-one-laughing-norway-halloween-special?season=2

Can you share the specific show so we can look into why it’s slow? The import/refresh has been sped up but there might be a quality filter that’s applying, in which case, a button to force import would be useful either. Let us know the show. Thanks!

The specific show this time is “Send in the Dogs”. It is now updated (I noticed it yesterday or the day before) but didn’t update in the first 24-36 hours.
That show also didn’t come up in a search for the title. I found it by searching for the narrator’s name. I’m still not sure why the title searches are giving us problems but I’ve seen others mention it; most shows come up very quickly.

Oh dear…I just searched to see if it would come up and it shows up at the very end of the results; unfortunately, it shows up twice with the same date 2008. The one with the officer and dog in the poster image links to a duplicate in TMDB with mostly missing data, so that’s where the duplicate came from.

Hi Kevin I’m wondering why this feature can’t just be added to the website since it still exists on the app? We should be able to request a refresh for any show whenever we want and it shouldn’t depend on a quality filter.

For example this is a low-traffic movie I updated the background for on TMDB. I checked on the app and it says it hasn’t refreshed the data for months. If I was only using the new website/app I would have no way of knowing this or manually triggering a pull of new data (besides submitting a one time report that has no way to check status or report more than once.) I refreshed the data and looked back the next day and it correctly updated to the new image.

This is a quick and easy button for the user and requires no extra steps that filing a vague report does. VIP users who consistently update TMDB really need this function. It’s a high priority addition that I really need on the website view.
