Bring Alternative Release Dates into v3

Alternative release dates in v2 were very useful for checking when a movie releases in cinemas in your country (which often differs between countries) or checking digital and physical release dates.

Would also be great to be able to set your country so that movies don't show up in “Start Watching” before they premiere where you live.

Agreed, this is one of the first (of many) missing features I noticed today after being forced onto V3. I looked up a film that I’d just booked tickets to for a preview screening in the UK to see if it was really a preview in terms of international releases (as many of our ‘early previews’ are weeks or months after it was in US cinemas), and all it shows me is “Expected Premiere” date. Expected Premiere where? And then if I navigate to a film that’s already out, say, Toy Story 5, it says “Premiered: June 19th 2026”. However, that’s factually incorrect, because if I visit themoviedb, it quite clearly says that the US premiere date was June 9th, and the theatrical release was 19th June 2026. Words have meanings, and the “premiere” dates on trakt v3 are, objectively speaking, misinformation.
