Add a vertical UI/UX for the v3 web for desktops
Something much much closer to the current v2 web than the actual v3 web version that is totally useless in a browser on a desktop.

Vertical lists would be incredible. Horizontal is painful for searching quickly through episodes and reviews.

The new version may be good for other platforms… as a pc web based user it does less than the old version, filters od not work, and considerably more steps to do many things that were easy before. Standardization is only a good idea if it does not dilute the current value prop - and it has. If pc web base is small I understand - otherwise I am at a loss as more modern is erasing many of the benefits of the platform. I am a VIP user and most disappointed with the new version.

Horizontal scrolling for actors on the website has always been OK to me, although a vertical expansion would be better. But all of the app-like horizontal scrolling on a website is terrible. The website is not an app.

I think replacing horizontal scrolling with expandable sections would be the best solution.
For reference, this idea has also been shared on GitHub:

The buttons need to be TEXT and not icon/logo that’s not immediately understandable.
The actual main menu button with 4 panels - search / home / discover / list is not usable.

I agree with your first point that sometimes in v3, some buttons are a bit ambiguous.
But the main menu just has 4 buttons, I think muscle memory will ensure you know which button does what after a day of using v3…
I would prefer to have tooltips that appear when hovering, as we had in v2.
